Artist Statement:
This picture was featured on the front cover of the Spring 2006 issue of Kalliope, an international women’s literature magazine.
This is a picture of how it sometimes feels inside. I chose coffee to represent myself because I love to drink coffee (my favorite kind is frappuccino), but also because it is a stimulant. The energy it gives you can be used either positively or negatively. When my energy is at its purest peak, I am either really happy and creative or really angry. The creative side is represented by the coffee mugs at the top pouring coffee out. The destructive side is represented by the mugs at the bottom tumbling wildly in the sea of coffee.
